Kramer Engineers Renovation Under Way
Kramer Engineers renovation is under way. We dove into a new engineering project; OUR OWN OFFICE. KE just started demo on the second floor. So, what was once a place for junk storage will be transformed into a new open concept office environment. The 2000 SF space will become the company’s design hub. And our engineering team, who has been packed into the smaller first floor space, is looking forward to the move.
Partnering with Gunzelman Architecture + Interior
Although engineering design was done inhouse, Laurie Gunzelman, principal of Gunzelman Architecture + Interiors led the visual and spatial transformation. “Gunzelman and Kramer have collaborated for years, it just made sense” said Ralph Kramer, owner and principal engineer of KE.
Laurie Gunzelman, AIA LEED AP, is an award winning architect whose work spans private and public design. The Gunzelman team has changed the face of local eateries and residences; and transformed public giants like Wright Patterson Air Force Base and the Ohio State University.
But the Renovation Does Not End There.
Although the Kramer Engineers renovation is under way one the 2nd floor, it will not end there. Once the dust settles and the move upstairs is done, we also plan to give the downstairs a facelift. The main level will become a dedicated space for the company’s administration and executive offices.
Then, once the first two levels are squared away, the final phase of the renovation will revamp the lower basement level. The vision is to carve our a section of the basement to house the company’s storage vault; and also create new professional rental suites.
But we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves. For the moment, we are just looking to finish step one. The anticipated HUB level completion is December of this year. And when that happens, Kramer Engineers will host an open house to showcase the unveiling.
