HISTORY AND HISTORIC DESIGN: Hardlines Design
History Dating Back to 1950
Kramer Engineers has a long history dating back to 1950. Three generations of Kramers have assessed and engineered mechanical, electrical and civil projects for clients across the Nation. So it’s no surprise that Kramer Engineers designed systems for such notable structures as Ohio History and Columbus Convention Centers.
Historic Preservation
Along the way, we have been fortunate to partner with some of the most talented Architectural visionaries in the industry. So since we’re reflecting on history this month, we’re paying tribute to a firm known for expertise in historic preservation.
Hardlines Design Company is a Columbus architecture and preservation firm. Because of their experience in saving our City’s iconic structures; Hardlines has the talent to weave technological and modern advances into the historic fabric of a building without taking away from it’s original character. That is one of the reasons why Hardlines’ principal architect Charissa Durst, was recently featured in the Columbus Dispatch for her accomplishments in historic preservation arena.
Because KE and Hardlines have a long history of collaboration on projects from remodels to building additions, the team knows how to make the pieces fit. Hardlines designs the structure that reflects the vision of an owner; and KE engineers the systems that brings the building to life. So our list of projects is long, but among our most recent ventures are:
- Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, Indian Mound Rec Center Addition
- Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, Turnberry Shelterhouse Remodel
- Clark County, Juvenile Detention Center, Building Addition
- City of Upper Arlington, Devon Pool, New Bathhouse
- Ohio Department of Natural Resources, John Bryan Day Lodge Renovation
